Happy Smiles Dentistry is a Medicaid dental provider in Richmond Virginia. For over 27 years, our highly qualified staff has been increasing the confidence and health of teens and young adults with quality dental care. Our dentists understand how expensive dental care can be. In order to help you, we accept most health and dental insurance plans including, but not limited to:
- Virginia Premier
- Anthem HealthKeepers Plus
- Military Tricare
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Pregnant/Nursing (over 21) Medicaid
At Happy Smiles Dentistry, we also accept Medicaid, FAMIS, and Smiles for Children, for those patients who do not have health or dental insurance.
What is Medicaid?
Medicaid is a federal government program that finances health care for families and individuals who cannot afford it. There are a number of factors which determine Medicaid eligibility, but generally, low-income families and children are eligible.
Dental services are part of Medicaid’s health program for children under 21 years of age. Through this program, it is possible for Medicaid to pay your dentist directly for routine dental checkups, fillings, emergency visits, and even braces. Contact our dental team today at Happy Smiles Dentistry in Richmond VA to learn more!
What is FAMIS?
Happy Smiles Dentistry accepts FAMIS Insurance. FAMIS (Family Access to Medical Insurance Security) is a Virginia health care program designed to benefit uninsured children. Like Medicaid, FAMIS eligibility depends on several factors, but if your child is a resident of Virginia, under 19 years of age, and is not covered by Medical Insurance, he or she may already be eligible.
FAMIS covers the cost of emergency and regular medical appointments, keeping co-payments as low as $2.00 per service. Many times under FAMIS, regular office visits are free.
What is Smiles for Children?
Children who are covered by Medicaid or FAMIS in the state of Virginia receive dental care through the Smiles for Children program. Coordinated by DentaQuest, the Smiles for Children program collaborates with dentists across the state to provide free dental service to enrolled children. Enrollment in the program begins automatically once your child begins receiving Medicaid or FAMIS.
Happy Smiles Dentistry serves the greater Richmond VA area and is proud to be involved with Smiles for Children. We appreciate the program and its affiliation with Medicaid and FAMIS because of our own commitment to quality, accessible dental care.
